Zero Tolerance Policy

Fayetteville Comic Con has a Zero Tolerance Policy.

At this time, we at Fayetteville Comic Con would like to remind you all that we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. We find prioritizing profits, reputation, entertainment, or personal convenience over the safety (physical, mental, emotional) of others to be simply unacceptable.

Therefore, we continue to actively evaluate our professional associations and engagements to ensure we are supporting businesses and individuals that are as committed as we are to the protection of fans, customers, and guests.

We want to add a little about what this means in respect to a convention, where we gather to celebrate our love of comics, art, movies and animation, CosPlay, wrestling and music.

The laws inside the show are the same as the laws outside the show. To that regard, we have uniformed and undercover Cumberland County Sheriff Deputies managing our Weapons Check and patrolling our show. Theft, vandalism, inside smoking or vaping, taking photographs without consent, violence or harassment of ANY kind is taken immediately to these deputies. On their advisement, we remove the offending parties from the show. In some circumstances, again at the law enforcement officers discretion, they have the right to arrest anyone found to be in violation of the law. And finally, if the offending parties, even if not charged, show continued behavior that threatens anyone or disrupts the show, in consultation with the Crown Exposition Center, we will file trespass orders against offenders.

The venue is the property of the County, but the event is private. That is why tickets or invitations are required. Fayetteville Comic Con is a fan show, run by fans, for fans.

We don’t intend to manage behavior, and everyone on Staff understands that sometimes innocent mistakes are made.

However, and this is really the core of the matter; if your behavior outside the event is questionable, or outright prejudicial, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, violent, racially intolerant, gender biased or simply harassing or rude, leave that behavior at the door. If that behavior (whether in real time or expressed on social media platforms) is considered threatening to the public or an individual, whether true or interpreted and brought to our attention prior to our show, we reserve the right to refuse entry. There are several other shows around the Carolinas that may overlook that behavior, and we encourage that anyone who chooses to explore those other opportunities rather than taint our event.

We are a part of a larger convention community, and we want to serve as stewards for that community whenever possible. If any of our guests, fans, suppliers, vendors, artists, volunteers or staff feel they cannot be on their best behavior or choose to engage in negative behavior at one of our events, or on a regular basis outside of our events, that behavior is neither welcome here, nor are those who routinely engage in activity that would make our valued community members feel threatened or unsafe.

We value community over commodity. We have a Zero Tolerance Policy.

By attending our event, you are confirming your acceptance of our policies, as published.

Sincerely, The Owners of Raleigh Llama Productions, DBA Fayetteville Comic Con, Inc.
